Summary Itinerary

Day 01: Waqrapukara

05:00 – 05:20 First we will start with the respective pick up from the hotel in Cusco to go south of Cusco to Sangarara.
07:00 – 09:00 Then we will continue along a zigzag road to the parking lot.
We will have free time to enjoy our breakfast.
10:00 – 14:00 Start the walk of approximately 2 hours until you reach the archaeological complex of Waqrapukara, upon arrival we will have enough time to take pictures and visit a large part of the place.
14:00 – 16:00 Then we will return by the same route to the parking lot, after a prudent time for our lunch we will be able to return to the city of Cusco.
The end point in Cusco is at Plaza San Francisco at approximately 6:00 p.m.

This destination is currently considered as a perfect alternative to the Mountain of Colors due to its resemblance and also because of the ease of a lesser physical requirement. Waqrapukara: Its name is in Quechua which when translated means Fortress of the Horns, however local people have a different name for this place, they refer to it as "the ears of a llama" arguing that it is always alert to what happens around it. around, for this reason they call it "Llama Pukara". The carved stone terraces simulate to support the upper part, which makes it look like a double peaked crown. In the middle of it, there is a natural cave with the participation of the Inca culture and a small window that overlooks the precipice, it also offers a magnificent view of the sky at night, contemplating the constellations and planets of enormous value in the Inca worldview. In 2017 it was given the title of Cultural Heritage of the Nation, for this reason it can be said that Waqrapukara has nothing to envy to other destinations.
