Classification according to variables
At MACHU PICCHU TOP AGENCY we offer a wide variety of tourist services in the various regions of the country. In order to offer you truly unforgettable experiences, we are making this classification available to you on THE LEVELS OF DIFFICULTY OF OUR SERVICES.
It is important that you give yourself the necessary time to verify if the activities you want to do are adequate so that you only dedicate yourself to enjoying your next experience.
Services bundled in the easy tier have the following characteristics:
- Recommended age: People of all ages.
- Physicals conditions: Physical preparation is not required, but good health is required.
- Previous experiences: Experience in similar activities is not required.
- Duration of the experience: Between 1 and 15 days, with approximately 2 to 4 hours of guided circuit.
- Places of visit: Tourist attractions near the city, natural parks, others.
- Recommended season: All year.
- Weather Conditions: All kinds of weather, changeable and sometimes strong.
- Height and Geography: Between 2000 and 3600 msnm. for different types of terrain.
- What to bring: Backpack of the day
Level 1 – Very Easy
Easy level tours or tours are those with which you can enjoy nature and views, cultural and historical data without the need for any effort, so it does not require time for acclimatization or physical preparation; they are practically an easy walk on flat and comfortable terrain.
The services grouped at the light level have the following characteristics:
- Recommended age: People of all ages.
- Physicals conditions: Moderate physical preparation and good health are required.
- Previous experiences: Experience in similar activities is not required.
- Duration of the experience: Between 1 and 15 days, with approximately 2 to 8 hours of walking per day including rest times.
- Places of visit: Tourist attractions, natural parks, rural communities, interpretation centers, others.
- Recommended season: Between March and January.
- Weather Conditions: all kinds of weather, changeable and sometimes strong.
- Height and Geography: Between 2000 and 3600 msnm. for different types of terrain.
- What to bring: Backpack of the day
Level 2 - Easy
To carry out the tours or walks of this level, a little more physical work is necessary. Like the easy level, they are fully accessible to anyone regardless of their physical condition or state of acclimatization. There will be a few slight ups and/or downs.
The services grouped in the normal level have the following characteristics:
- Recommended age: Over 8 years old and adults up to 60 years old.
- Physicals conditions: Regular (not intense) physical preparation and good health are required.
- Previous experiences: If experience in similar activities is required.
- Duration of the experience: Between 1 and 15 days, with approximately 2 to 8 hours of walking per day including rest times.
- Places of visit: Tourist attractions, natural parks, others.
- Recommended season: Between March fortnight and January fortnight.
- Weather Conditions: All kinds of weather, changeable and sometimes strong.
- Height and Geography: Between 2400 and 5000 msnm. for different types of terrain.
- What to bring: Specialized luggage for the type of activity.
Level 3 - Average
To take the tours of this level, you must be acclimatized, especially with respect to the altitude of the area, since this limits your breathing capacity. Even so, to carry out these walks or tours it is not necessary to be in excellent physical condition, always bearing in mind that the route will have high and low areas.
The services grouped in the difficult level have the following characteristics:
- Recommended age: Over 8 years old and adults up to 50 years old.
- Physicals conditions: A physical preparation above the regular also psychological and to enjoy good health is required.
- Previous experiences: If experience in similar activities is required.
- Duration of the experience: Between 4 and 15 days, with approximately 5 to 10 hours of walking per day including rest times.
- Places of visit: Tourist attractions, natural parks, others.
- Recommended season: Between March fortnight and January fortnight.
- Weather Conditions: All kinds of weather, changeable and sometimes strong.
- Height and Geography: Between 2400 and 4650 msnm. for different types of terrain.
- What to bring: Specialized luggage for the type of activity.
Level 4 - Challenging
At this level you will find tours and walks in which you need to be fully acclimatized before starting, so the altitude will be a factor that you must know how to handle. For this level of demand you will need the right equipment such as trekking shoes, poles, necessary hydration and above all be in good physical condition.
The services grouped in the intense level have the following characteristics:
- Recommended age: Over 15 years and adults up to 45 years.
- Physicals conditions: Excellent physical and psychological preparation is required, as well as good health.
- Previous experiences: If experience in similar activities is required.
- Duration of the experience: Between 5 and 20 days, with approximately 6 to 11 hours of walking per day including rest times.
- Places of visit: Tourist attractions, natural parks, others.
- Recommended season: Between April and October.
- Weather Conditions: All kinds of weather, changeable and strong.
- Height and Geography: Between 2,500 and 5,000 msnm. for different types of terrain.
- What to bring: Specialized luggage for the type of activity.
Level 5 - Exhausting
To make a tour of this level you need to be in excellent physical condition, since the physical effort to be made is arduous and intense. You will need to acclimatise with more time in the heights and of course have the right equipment to overcome the challenges that will come your way. Tours of this level are the most challenging, but they are also the most unforgettable.
